The volume includes a preface written by Prof. Paolo Santangelo, a long introduction to the contemporary Chinese literature based on the short story, and the translations by the Author herself into Italian from the original in Chinese of twelve short stories written between 1977 and 1981.

Aḥmad Bašīr al-'Ayla is one of the most prolific and versatile author of Contemporary Palestinian literary landscape.
